The Lien Ying Chow Fellowship Council 

A Fellowship Council, comprising eminent public figures and private individuals as well as representatives from the Lien Foundation, contributes to the strategic oversight of the programme. In addition, the members are actively involved in the recruitment of candidates and form the selection panel of the Lien Fellows. They also act as resource persons, providing networking opportunities as well as personally enriching the exposure of the Fellows.

Chairman
Mr Wong Kan Seng is a member of parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and Prime Minister's special advisor for economic co-operation. Mr Wong is a well-known politician and diplomat in Singapore. Mr Wong first contested and won in the 1984 Parliamentary election. Since then, he has been re-elected as Member of Parliament in six successive general elections. Mr Wong has headed many key ministries and offices including Community Development, Communications and Information, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and National Security. He was also the leader of the House (Parliament). Mr Wong retired from the Cabinet as Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security in May 2011.
 


Executive Director
Assoc Prof (Dr) Wu Wei is Executive Director of Lien Ying Chow Legacy Fellowship.

Assoc Prof Wu is currently the Director of Nanyang Centre for Public Administration at Nanyang Technological University. He's also Director of the China Affairs Office and Head of the Politics & Public Administration Group in the School of Humanities & Social Sciences of Nanyang Technological University.

 
Members
Mr Laurence Lien
is CEO of the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre and Chairman of Lien Foundation, President of Centre for Non-Profit Leadership, Deputy Chairman of Lien Aid. He had formerly served in Ministries of Finance, Community Development, Youth and Sports, Home Affairs and Education.

BG (Ret) Chin Siat Yoon is Singapore's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China. He also served as Singapore's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Trade Representative in Taiwan and Ambassador to Germany.

Ms Lien Siaou-Sze recently retired after a 27-year career with Hewlett-Packard. Siaou-Sze now divides her time as a member of the Board of Trustees of Nanyang Technological University and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors of Republic Polytechnic.

Mr Michael Lien is Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Wah Hin & Company. He is a board member of Temasek Holdings and a member of NUS National University of Singapore's Board of Trustees and its Investment Committee. Mr Lien was a UOB Bank Board Director from 2005 to 2009. He was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and headed its Singapore corporate finance business up to 2002. Mr Lien was a Colombo Plan Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours), with majors in Finance and Econometrics from Monash University, Australia.

Mr Koh Beng Seng is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Octagon Advisors Pte Ltd. Mr Koh has extensive experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Octagon, he was the Deputy President of Singapore's United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB).

Professor Alan Chan Kam-Leung
was born in Hong Kong and received his university education in Canada, where he earned his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto. He taught at the University of Manitoba, Canada before he joined the National University of Singapore in 1991. He was appointed Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University in October 2009.

Mr Chew Kheng Chuan is Chief University Advancement Officer of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), overseeing the Development Office, Alumni Affairs Office and Corporate Communications Office. Prior to joining NTU, he was the Founding Director of National University of Singapore's Development Office and subsequently, its first Vice President of Endowment & Institutional Development.
